Spiky Lamp is a sculptural table lamp developed by Anatoly Shabalin K. in collaboration with Lumarh. Created in Berlin, Germany, the project translates a recurring visual language from the artist’s painting practice into a functional design object. The spikes, central to Shabalin’s artistic vocabulary, extend across the stainless steel shade and transform the lamp into an interactive surface rather than a purely decorative form. Receipts, photographs, postcards, and fragments of everyday life can be placed onto the spikes, allowing the object to gradually accumulate personal traces and evolve over time.
Instead of remaining static, the lamp becomes a living archive shaped by its owner. Each version develops a distinct visual identity, turning the user into a co-author of the final composition. Crafted from polished stainless steel and measuring 25 × 25 × 45 cm, Spiky Lamp reflects its surroundings while physically holding memory, positioning itself at the intersection of contemporary design, visual art, and creative production. It is a collectible design piece that merges concept and material with everyday functionality in a way that feels both intimate and architecturally precise.
