As part of the summer exhibition at Wehrmuehle, curator Galina Kolchina invited artist Anatoly Shabalin K. to create a site-specific installation within the gallery grounds. The work reflects on society, human interaction, and the ways individuals exist in relation to their surroundings.
For the installation, the ASK LAB team produced 300 sculptural hands and installed them across the landscape, emerging from the river and surrounding forest. Distributed at different heights and positions, the hands form a collective presence within the natural environment, leaving their meaning deliberately open: they can appear to be reaching out, connecting, disappearing, or searching for a way through.
