ASK LAB developed the design and layout for Anatoly Shabalin K.’s graduation thesis at Central Saint Martins. The thesis takes a sarcastic look at the supposed “positive sides” of data collection, turning the familiar language of digital surveillance and consent into a playful visual experience.
The publication uses a bright yellow color as its foundation, combined with playful illustrations that deliberately balance between humor and something slightly unsettling. Throughout the book, interactive-looking banners periodically appear between the pages, mimicking familiar interface requests such as asking for access to a webcam.
By bringing the language of digital interfaces into a physical publication, the design turns the reading experience into a subtle parody of the constant requests, permissions, and data collection that have become part of everyday digital life.
