ASK LAB developed the original album artwork for Diana Gordon’s Riding in Cars with Boys, exploring a handcrafted visual language through analog mixed media techniques. Rather than relying on digital image manipulation, the project focused on physical experimentation, using layered materials, textures, and manual interventions to create artwork with depth, movement, and a strong tactile character.

The concept was designed to complement the emotional atmosphere of the album, translating its themes into a visual composition shaped through craftsmanship and material exploration. Although the artwork was completed, the album underwent a creative change shortly before release, including a new title and visual direction, and the project was ultimately not published. Despite remaining unreleased, the work reflects ASK LAB’s approach to developing distinctive visual identities where graphic design, analog processes, and contemporary art intersect to create memorable music artwork.
