In collaboration with Berlin-based studio Blankvers, ASK LAB developed and produced Monolite, a sculptural bench built from contrasting raw materials.

The two supports are made from concrete and treated with Indian ink, while the seat is made from a reclaimed roof beam taken from an old house and finished with the same ink treatment. The contrast between heavy concrete and aged timber gives the piece a monolithic yet tactile character.

The bench is designed as a transformable object. By repositioning its elements, it can shift from a functional seat into a vertical sculptural composition, blurring the boundary between furniture and sculpture.
